Ragi oats banana waffles - vegan and gluten free

The goodness of ragi and oats with sweetness of banana in a kid friendly recipe.

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Waffle maker

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup ragi flour
  • 1/2 cup oat flour grind old fashioned or steel cut oats in a blender
  • 3/4 cup plant based milk- I used soy milk
  • 1 whole ripe banana chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp flax meal
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp raw cacao powder optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat your waffle iron.
    Add all ingredients to a blender and blend into a smooth paste for 20 sec. Take the batter into a bowl.
    Spray a bit of oil on your waffle iron.
    Add the batter to the waffle maker and use the appropriate setting per your machine.
  • Once done, serve your waffles with maple syrup/ date syrup and fresh berries. A thin layer of melted chocolate will make the kids want more:)

Notes

Add nuts to the batter, if no worries about allergies.
You can serve with honey as well- ( will not be vegan).
