Smoothies, the short cut to add the ideal amount of fruits and vegetables each day are my go to afternoon snack. The combinations, possibilities are endless, and you can get creative with your imagination in designing the smoothies.

Peeling the fruits decreases the fiber potential, which I usually don’t do for my smoothies. Pick your color, find the ingredients and let the blender do the work. Smoothie can be a snack or a meal, depending on the content. If you have diabetes or trying to loose weight, try to limit pure fruit smoothies and add more greens, vegetables to avoid the sudden sugar spike. Fruit loaded smoothies are great before workout or any energy consuming activity

This one is light, crisp, fresh with right amount of touch of sweetness. A perfect blend of pear, kiwi, celery and few grapes makes it irresistibly refreshing .

Refreshing celery with pear smoothie

A refreshing light smoothie that I love for summer mornings with right amount of sweetness

Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Celery whole celery stalk washed, cut in to 4-5 pieces
  • 1 Green pear unpeeled washed, cut into 4-5 slices
  • 1 Whole kiwi- peel and diced
  • 10 Organic green grapes washed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk chilled
  • 1/4 cup crushed ice for slushy texture and chill, optional

Instructions
 

  • Add all the ingredients to the blender. If using a blender with smoothie setting just run the cycle once. If not, blend until smooth and slushy.
    Do not gulp it all at once. Sip through 30min to one hour.

Notes

*If you want to make a heavier version, add 1/4 cup ripe avocado with dash of lime. 
*For extra sweetness, increase the amount of pear , or add 1/4 cup pineapple.
